Hi readers! I just want to say, whoever you are out there reading my blog, thank you :). Your views and comments make my day! Speaking of today...it was a long one. This week is long, it's seeming to linger and say, Emily, you haven't been served enough crap today, I'm going to give you some more. This day has been laughing and jeering at me! Do you ever feel like that? I'm just exhausted. I guess it's that time of year though where you're super stressed, running on coffee, and have projects and papers to write for all eternity. At least it's almost over. For anyone out there that's with me: we're almost there! We almost have a break!
Here is shoot I did of my drop-dead-gorg sister, Katherine. Had a lot of fun styling her and photographing her as always. She's such a dork, when I was dressing her and doing her hair/makeup, she was like, "Emily! I look stupid...my eyebrows are too dark, and why are you teasing my pony-tail?!" Then I was like, "Trust me! The photos will look grand." The more dramatic, the better ;). And boom. I was right ;). She looks beautiful, doesn't she! She always looks fab though. I mean look at her eyelashes...those thangs aren't fake! I was kinda going for a hint of Carrie Bradshaw mixed in with a little boho free people look. Want some styling tips?...Read below to create your perfect pony!
Okay so you wanna know how to create this textured pony?! Take your hair and spray texture spray or hairspray in your hair. Now take your fingers and mess it all up. Put it in a high-slicked-back pony. Now take a teasing brush and start from underneath the hair and tease. Now pick different sections and tease those as well. Then fluff the pony up some more with your fingers and spray! Hold that look in place! Also spray the top of your head to get the hair leading up to your pony very slicked back. Wa-La! Instant Carrie Bradshaw pony. (If anyone wants, I can make a visual tutorial if you need more help...or are a visual learner, like me :))
Hope that made sense. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great night!
xo,
Emily
