Relaxed Boho Chic

Today was such a nice day, I just had to do a shoot! And I'm really pumped about my new wedge sneakers. It's all the rage right now, don't you know? ;). It's my favorite trend at the moment But seriously these shoes are great, because if you are like me, we like heels. But the thing with heels is they are not the comfiest shoes in our closet. I mean duh. So with these sneaker wedges, it's the best of both worlds! I can honestly wear them without complaining for about 6 hours. 6 hour heels are pretty good.

Hope everyone's day was as good as mine! To find out complete outfit details read on.

What I'm wearing:

Urban Outfitter High-Top Wedge Sneaker  //  Urban Outfitter Slit Skirt  //  Hardtail Shirt  //  Flea Market Southwestern Turquoise Ring  //  Boho Bag from HopSing

What's your favorite trend right now?

P.S. A big thank you to the most handsomeist wonderful amazing hottie boy friend for taking my pics :)

Healthy Reeses

Now from the looks of this title, you're thinking, "No way, Emily. You're insane. There is no such thing as a healthy Reeses." Well today is your lucky day because I'm going to prove you wrong. These little gems changed my life. These have no sugar, are gluten free, and have only 12 carbs in the whole batch (and most all of those are usable fiber). Yes, today, I'm writing to you as a changed woman. I just made them and let me tell you I was in chocolate peanut butter heaven.

How is this possible you ask? Well let me tell you. Here are the ingredients.

2 Tbl NATURAL nutty Peanut butter (if you get the right one, it'll have no sugar-no Jiffy brand here ladies)

4 Tbl Special Dark Cocoa 100%. Here is where most of the carbs come in...but cocoa powder mostly is a fibrous carb.

4 Tbl Coconut Oil

1 Tsp Vanilla

1-2 Packets Stevia

*A quick note: if you are not worried about sugar and carbs and what not, use normal pb because I think the more sugary pb will freeze better. The natural stuff I used is so yummy and better for you, but definitely more messy and doesn't freeze as well.

Here's the steps:

1. Melt and mix the coconut oil, stevia packet(s), and cocoa powder till it is a smooth, fully melted mixture.

2. Take a rubber tray (I used a normal plastic ice cube tray and it was hard to take out) and spoon a little of the chocolate mixture in each space. Then place in freezer for about 5 min. to set the first chocolate layer

4. Then spoon your nut butter on top of the first layer. Place back in freezer for 10 min.

5. Spoon your remaining chocolate mixture on top of the nut butter layer. Place back in freezer for another 10 min.

6. Take out of freezer. Eat your scrumptious little tasty sensations!

*Warning!!! I popped like 4 in mouth before 5 minutes. They're addictive. And very filling because of all of those healthy fats!

For the whole batch, it's 730 calories. 29g of healthy fat. 12 carbs. 14g protein. My ice tray made 14 of these. So that comes out to 52 calories/ peanut butter cup. If you are on a low-carb diet these things are your new best friend.

Okay that's it :) Hope you love it as much as me!!! Let me know what you think! If you're not a chocolate peanut butter kind of gal, what do you like?? I'd love to hear from you!

XOXO

Get Voluminous Curls in Less than 10 MIN!!

So I've gotten a few emails asking for more hair tutorials. So I put together this one for you all! And before I get started, I must apologize for the lack of creativity with the video and the selfies. If you read my blog consistently (thank you by the way, if that's you:)) you'd know that I really try to make my photos fun and creative :).

Okee Dokee! For this post, instead of using step-by-step photos, I made a video. I think its sometimes better to watch someone do it. So I hope you like it, and as always, if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask. I love hearing from you!

This hairstyle is great for date nights or going out with friends. It's super fast, and turns out lovely :). It usually takes me around 8 minutes!

So there you have it. Voluminous curls in less than 10 minutes! Here's a couple pics of the hairstyle all done. P.s. if you want to see more phone pics, go and follow me through all my daily adventures on instagram. Username is @egoswick.

Letterman's and Leather

You guys. School's starting. Can I get a "whoop whoop" from the peanut gallery?

This time, for me, it's the semester before my last! (in big girl school...aka college) Yikes is all I can say. It went by so fast. It feels like I just came out of high school. Who of you like high school like me? Football games, wearing your crushes letterman jacket, varsity soccer games, sleep overs, track meets, easy classes...oh it was grand.

This whole back to school thing inspired me for this outfit post. When I was home for break, I went digging through my parents closet, like any of us do, and I found my dad's old letterman's jacket! So fun, right? So naturally, like any 21 year old girl would do, I took it ;). And I must say, it is becoming one of my fav's! For complete outfit details, read below!

What I'm wearing:  dad's letterman's jacket  //  Urban Outfitter Leather Skater Skirt  //  Target Plaid Shirt (similar here)  //  Steve Madden Pink Pumps  //  Anthropologie Lily Necklace

So what are your favorite high school memories? Or did you hate high school all together??

Make Your Own Valentines Cards!

This is a little post, inspiring you to make your own Valentines day cards. I am so not a "card" person. I always make fun of my boy friend because he loves store-bought cards. Him and his whole family does. They love receiving store bought cards! This I think is so funny, because we, the Goswicks, are the exact opposites. Sometimes we don't even read the dang card because it's so generic! It's like they (Hallmark) did the job for you! I always say, just write me a letter on notebook paper because, in my opinion, its so much better :).   Not to be dissin on the "card" people, I love you all, but I making your own means so much more! Plus, this is so easy...even to those who think they can't paint or make anything creative. With this, I'll prove you wrong :).

So here you go. It's kinda self-explanatory but have at it.

Here's what you'll need:
Watercolor Paper
Watercolors
Brush
Acrylic Paint *optional
Creativity!

Let them drip!

Here, I just went back and am painting the hearts with acrylic paint, just to outline them a little bit, to give them more of a Pop!
Hope this gives you some motivation to make your own Valentines day cards this year!

Valentines Day Gift Ideas

I don't know about you all, but Valentines Day may rival Christmas for me. I love love love Valentines Day. For the obvious reasons of course, but also because it's my anniversary too! So until the day I die, I'm guaranteed to have a Valentine :).

And I'm sorry for those of you who hate it...I know it sucks sometimes not to have someone on that day. But girls! Love it for you! Love the pink, the cute undies, hearts, and pink lipstick. Even if you don't have a man, I'm sure you love someone and that someone loves you! Take the day to tell them you love them...like your mommy for example! Talking about mom's, my mom may love Valentines day even more than me. She goes all out with our Valentines basket...even more than our Christmas stocking. She finds the cutest things. But this year, I think I'm beating her to the punch because I just found all of these adorable fun things to surprise your friends with, or to treat yourself to! Plus they're all affordable. So look below to find those fun cute girlie wonderfulness.

Chalkboard Heart $7.99  //  Heart Glasses $10.99  //  Love Ducks $7.98  //  Pink Handbag $26.99  //  Better Together Card $6  //  Eiffel Tower Ring Dish $12  //  Lipstick $24

The second combination of images are for sexy little things to make yourself feel "pretty o so pretty." I don't know about you, but even if no one sees our pretty undies, it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy them. I know I feel pretty in a lacey bra, heavy eye makeup, and pink lacey undies! And isn't that pink lacey romper just the cutest?! Want that. Also, I put in my first real perfume, Flower Bomb! I really like it. Brennan gave it to me for my birthday. And prior to this, I vetoed perfume because I think girls wear way too much...it gives me a headache! So I used to not like any kind. But this perfume, in the right dosage, smells really delicious (so my boy friend says :)). So it is boy approved, plus Emily approved (so that's saying a lot.)

Cracked Cinnamon Jumper $138  //  Flower Bomb $170  //  False Lashes $2.80  //  Undies $12.50-$14.50  //  Sephora Liner $24  //  V-Day Pushup $49.50  //  Lacey Red Bra $48

Tell me about your favorite thing about Valentines Day! I'd love to hear your stories.

Lots of Xo's

I'm 21!!

I turned 21! I was a little sad that I couldn't be with my family today, but Brennan and his family of course made is so special. These are just a few pics of my wonderful day. I woke up to chocolate slid under my door. Right then I knew it would be a good day. Then I opened my door and found jillions of balloons all over the house taped to the ceiling and this sign. I'm tellin' you what, any boys out there, you all should take notes from my boyfriend. I don't want to act like I have the best boy friend ever (but sorry ladies, I do) :). I went to lunch with his mom and sister at Laguna, then got ready for our dinner at The Melting Pot. When I came home, my sweet housemates made me yummy cookies! Then my honey came bearing a Nordstrom box. I knew it'd be good ;). It was the perfume Flower Bomb. I never wear perfume, so it was a good surprise, even better because Brennan really likes the smell too! Everything was so fun! I had my first drink too. I've never drank before. The drink I got were really good, but I still would rather eat my calories!

But the biggest surprise is that, this day wasn't my main celebratory day! We are celebrating "the big part" next weekend :). Brennan wants it to be a surprise, so I'll let you know what happens!

My B-day outfits for the day.

all of my beautiful flowers from the day!

Mango Margarita. Yummy! First drink ever. No joke.

Little collage of the day. Top left is with Brennan's mom and sister at Lunch! Bottom right is cuddling watching bad 90's chick flicks.

Yummy lunch at Las Brisas! With Blair and Jessie.

Second drink at dinner. I'm crazy. I know.
Dinner at Melting Pot!

My hottie tottie boyfriend.

This is how the table looked when I arrived! Awww!

House Decorating Tips

This post I'm going to share with you some helpful tips for decorating a room. Whether in college or just starting to move into your first apartment (exciting!) it is always nice to gather some tips and inspiration. The house I live in now, I'm sharing with 8 other girls. Knowing this, you probably have figured out that there is not a whole lot of space.

Now I don't want to brag, but I'm pretty fortunate in having a mother with a taste like Rachel Ashwell (if you don't know her, look her up). Growing up I was surrounded by pretty things. My mom has great taste! Look at some of her house here. Without further adieu, here's my room and here are my tips to you. Oh and ignore the ugly carpet...I can't help that one :(, that's the beauty of renting, right?

Tip #1:

Look for Storage in Unlikely Spots

I try to turn every space I can into a storage space. Buy furniture that can double as storage space. I use bins beneath my clothes in my nook of a closet and use bins underneath my bed. Also try to build up. Many times people don't utilize the space above them. I bought these great white lockers at Ikea that don't take up to much floor space, but they are very high, helping me store books, and other trinkets.

Tip #2:

Less is not always more

I mean look at my room...do you see much empty space? I don't. I'm a collector. I like things that I don't need. Plus think of it this way, once you are married, living in your own house, you will have more space to display the things that you've collected over the years. The house I'm living in now is pretty full but when I have more space, I'll have more things to fill that space!

Tip #3:

Garage Sales. Savers. Goodwill. Flea market.

All of those wonderful things listed above should become your best friends. I'm telling you! Almost everything in my room was found at one of those places. You can really find some good treasures here!  Those of you who are a little shabby chic, aeclectic-like like me, you'll really like this suggestion. My favorite thing to do in the whole world is to go Flea Market shopping. My favorites are the Rosebowl Flea Market, which is the second Sunday of every month and the Long Beach Flea Market, which is the third Sunday of every month. And fyi flea markets are not necessarily less-expensive, but you can bargain them down, which is half the fun :) Plus you meet such great people and find the coolest of things. It's an experience that you all should do! In the photo below, I got my pink car, magazine holder, and jeweled glasses at the top all at the flea market...not to mention my cool south western beaded jewelry!

Tip #4:

Make things your own. What I mean by this, is look at an item with a different agenda. For example, I have collected these old brass platters and instead of using something like holding food, I display my sunglasses and jewelry. Another example is hanging my old windows (that I found in the trash by the way) on the wall to display pictures. Collect mason jars and use them to hold cotton balls, brushes, pens/pencils.

Another thing is to actually make your own knick-nacks. I took a ceramics class and most of the cups and bowls that I use to hold my paint brushes and jewelry, I've made myself (including this holding some of my lipsticks and the heart bowl holding my rings). It doesn't have to be ceramics, but pinterest is filled with diy projects that are easy and super cute!

Tip #5:

Something that is helpful to do when putting together your room is to develop a color scheme. This will help you out with buying everything else, like furniture, wall decor, and so forth. Also, another thing that is AUH-MAZING is chalkboard paint. You can create your own custom headboard using this, utilize that wall that is just so plain, or make cute message boards around the room.

Tip #6:

Do what you want!

The thing you must remember is to do what you love. Your space should be a reflection of you, not someone else. Who says you can't put that there! Buy what you like and show-off what makes you happy. Developing your own personal style is so fun!

And there you go my darlings! The rest is up to you! Happy decorating :). Here are just a few more shots around my room!
