Happy Halloween pretties! Who's a big Halloween fan? I'm not the biggest fan. I loved it when I was younger, when I dressed up as Cinderella, or as my beagle, Butter. One year I was even a piece of gum...what possessed me to do this is still a mystery. When my sisters and I dumped our bags of candy at the end of the night on our living room floor and traded each other for the best candy, like it was the most important thing in the world. haha I liked that Halloween. Now as adults, what do we have to look forward to? Sexy nurse costumes? Eh, I'll pass :).
Today I have a bit of eye candy for you. Candy you can't trick or treat for ;)...I'm sharing these freely! These incredible film photographs by Roberto Dutesco of the Wild Horses of Sable Island. This island is a remote and private island, right off the coast of Nova Scotia. He been documenting these horses for years. They are perhaps some of the most beautiful images I've ever seen. After seeing these photos from Roberto, It makes me be so thankful and in-awe of God's creation. These horses, the island, the waves and open sky...it's a huge reminder to me that the Lord has created all things. And how great is it that we get to enjoy his creation. The next excerpt comes from his website.
"He first learned of Sable Island and its wild horses in 1994 and made his first trip to the island that same year. A perilous journey by small plane from Halifax and a beach landing brought him to this remarkable place. Over time, and with patience and respect for these living creatures who, in the absence of natural predators, exhibit no fear of humans, he learned the ways of the horses and fell in love with the island in the process."
Roberto came out with a book with these prints that is available at Target (if you click the Target link, it'll take you straight to the book, if interested in ordering). The book would be an excellent Christmas present...it's what I'm asking for ;). It's originally $150, but Target is selling if for $127.... it would be a lovely coffee table. A book you could look at for hours snuggled up in your favorite blanket and hot tea in your Anthropologie Mug (you know which one I'm talking about ;)).
