Free Curve Friday 4

Happy Friday! I am so so so thankful for this Friday. This week was awful. I seriously was glued to my computer doing terrible things like writing papers and studying. Yuck. I even slept in one day and missed one of my tests because I was so tired! Terrible. And I was probably repulsing people with my zombified look and coffee breath. So thankfully tonight, I get to shower, put on makeup, wear cute clothes and go out with my hottie boyfriend..its amazing what a little pampering can do :) Anyways, here is your Free Curve for the week. Hope you all love it! As always, let me know if you need help with anything! Hope you all have a grand Friday.

Kat as Carrie Bradshaw

Hi readers! I just want to say, whoever you are out there reading my blog, thank you :). Your views and comments make my day! Speaking of today...it was a long one. This week is long, it's seeming to linger and say, Emily, you haven't been served enough crap today, I'm going to give you some more. This day has been laughing and jeering at me! Do you ever feel like that? I'm just exhausted. I guess it's that time of year though where you're super stressed, running on coffee, and have projects and papers to write for all eternity. At least it's almost over. For anyone out there that's with me: we're almost there! We almost have a break!

Here is shoot I did of my drop-dead-gorg sister, Katherine. Had a lot of fun styling her and photographing her as always. She's such a dork, when I was dressing her and doing her hair/makeup, she was like, "Emily! I look stupid...my eyebrows are too dark, and why are you teasing my pony-tail?!" Then I was like, "Trust me! The photos will look grand." The more dramatic, the better ;). And boom. I was right ;). She looks beautiful, doesn't she! She always looks fab though. I mean look at her eyelashes...those thangs aren't fake! I was kinda going for a hint of Carrie Bradshaw mixed in with a little boho free people look. Want some styling tips?...Read below to create your perfect pony!

Okay so you wanna know how to create this textured pony?! Take your hair and spray texture spray or hairspray in your hair. Now take your fingers and mess it all up. Put it in a high-slicked-back pony. Now take a teasing brush and start from underneath the hair and tease. Now pick different sections and tease those as well. Then fluff the pony up some more with your fingers and spray! Hold that look in place! Also spray the top of your head to get the hair leading up to your pony very slicked back. Wa-La! Instant Carrie Bradshaw pony. (If anyone wants, I can make a visual tutorial if you need more help...or are a visual learner, like me :))

Hope that made sense. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great night!

Family Photos

Hi Lovlies! I'm so excited to share some of our amazing family photos we took over Thanksgiving break. They are taken by the amazing, Lauren Ristow. She does beautiful work! Check out more of her work on her website. It was so fun to do this! We never usually take family photos because (a) either me or my mom are photographing it, (b) someone feels fat, or (c) we are not all together at home! I was so thankful that we took these though because currently our family photo that we have hanging in the house is when I was 9. I was a total tomboy and I had a bull cut. Yep...pretty bad. Brennan always jokes about it and says, "Honey! When we were younger we could have passed as twins!" Ya. Thanks a lot Brennan. haha.

The pictures are taken on the ranch and the horses- also family- are named Moon and Monkey. And the adorable puppy, you've already met (more on her in this post) is named Scoopy Lou and/or Mila and/or Cookie Crumb. My older sister, Allie, is the one with the dark dark hair and looks like a split between Kim Kardashian and Cleopatra. Katherine is my little peanut of a sister. She is so naturally beautiful and is so so sweet! My mom, could be mistaken as another sister. She is my best friend. And my handsome dad used to be the Marlboro Man... can't you tell! Look at that scruff! Oh and I'm the blonde one :).

I'm so super busy this week but I'll try to be on top of the posts this week for you all :). Do you have any requests? Hair tutorial? Fashion post?...you name it! Have a great week and be sure to drink lots hot cocoa and wear comfy scarves...it's getting cold outside! Yay! Love the Christmas season :).

Boho Fab

Hi everyone! How was everybody's Thanksgiving?? What was your favorite thing about it? I love Thanksgiving, it's one of my favorite holiday's for sure. Family and food...what's not to love? :) I made this pumpkin pie cheesecake with gingersnap crust. It was heavenly.

Anyways, I'm back in California. I had a really busy last couple of days at Anthropologie. Lots of people shopping for Black Friday! I'm kinda overwhelmed right now. I have so much homework to do...sad day. It's time to bare down and get work done. So my last little treat of the night will be to do this post. No more facebook or pinterest for me tonight. These photos are from a shoot I did a couple weeks ago of Taylor...isn't she boho fabulous! Loved her whole look, our location, and the wonderful wind! Got some great shots! Enjoy!

P.s. sorry about the no free curve friday this friday...I'll promise I'll make it up to you for those who are sad about it!
