How to wear Midi Rings

Happppy Friday loves! Hopefully everyone's week went well. I had a really hard week...not to be Miss Debbie Downer, but it was not fun. I have a terrible eye infection that makes me walk around with my eye shut like a pirate. I have makeup on one eye and not the other haha. I'm a mess. And on top of everything, it's not even funny how far I am behind in school. I am so over school right now. Who's with me? I graduate in one more semester, but I feel like I've already checked out...which is terribly bad! I usually am a great student, but now I've morphed into the one who sits in the back who plays on their phone. Eek! Does anyone know how I feel? How do you get some motivation for school?

Alrighty, now that I just vented my troubles with you all, I can move on to the post for today! Midi Rings. These little gems are super easy to layer and to wear--adding a simple elegance to your accessories. So we all know them...but do you know how to wear them? I know you're thinking, well Emily, you just put them on. This is true, but I think that there is a right and wrong way to wear everything, so these are my thoughts on how to do them right!

Various rings from Urban Outfitters, Flea Market, and Prism Boutique. (And p.s. if you haven't heard of Prism, you should check out there site. They just opened and its amazing.)

STEP 1: The first step I do when dressin' my fingers :) is picking a focal point. Just like your wardrobe--you want a focal piece--whether that may be the top, headpiece, shoes, or bottoms. You don't ever want to go over the top and make everything you wear super crazy and too much right? No, of course not. Same with rings. Choose one or two big statement rings to put on your finger/s.

STEP 2: Step two is picking the midi rings/ smaller rings. Put one on an alternate finger to the one wearing your statement ring or place on at the top of the finger with your statement ring. I love the simpleness and uniqueness these add! One tip that I would recommend is to stick with midi rings that are gold or silver. Keep it classy. Another thing--the cheaper the midi ring, the easier they fall off, so be careful. I bought the one with the two turquoise stones at Prism Boutique that was a bit more expensive than the others...but it's my fav one and never ever moves on my finger.

Here are some examples of how I wear mine! How do you wear yours?

Sisters Squared

Sisters. I love sisters. I have two. I love sisters because they are always there for you and will always be  your best friend. With sisters you always have support, lots of laughter, silliness, and double the wardrobe.

All of this is true about me and my sisters and I'm guessing is true for sisters, Elizabeth and Isabella. Who are these two sisters you may ask? Well these sisters are the creative minds behind the amazing boutique, Spell. Spell, which is based in Byron Bay is my new all time favorite! I swear, if  I had all the money in the world I would buy everything they sell. If I was to describe it to you in a quick sentence, here's what I'd say: it's a mix between gypsy and the western spirit, Free People, messy hair, the beach, and everything that is awesome about flea markets. So if you think about it, all of those together equal perfection!

I was so blessed to have received a package from them and so inspired to shoot. I decided to do two shoots, one of me and one of my sister, to keep the sister-team-theme going :). So its sister's squared over here.

The first set of images of me are shot by my mom: Anne Goswick
The second set of images of my sister, Katherine are shot by me.

Tell me about your sisters...if you have any :)

Cowboy Coffee Frapaccino [Life on the Ranch]

Hi sweets! I have a super duper fun post for you today. Today I'm sharing my favorite little morning treat with you: Cowboy Coffee Frappuccino. Can you say yum?! It tastes just like Starbucks--except, it's uber low calorie. To begin does everyone know what cowboy coffee is? Well, if not, you're going to learn! Cowboy Coffee is dark, rich coffee that is made without separating water from the grounds. Cowboys make it because it requires only minimum supplies. So all you need is coffee, water, and a cooking pot. I mean, cowboys don't have fancy machines out on the ranch. Ya right. So after the coffee is brewed, just let the coffee pot sit for a couple minutes, then pour a half a cup of cold water on top of it. That will make most of the coffee grounds sink to the bottom of the pot!

Now for the frappuccino, here is what I used:

2 cups Brewed Cowboy Coffee
Ice
1 packet Stevia
Whipped Cream on top. Duh. BEST part.

Put all the ingredients into a blender and viola! Deliciousness served.

I thought it would be fun to include some of the photos of my life on the ranch too. This is how I grew up and what I come home to every chance I get! If you have any questions about the Frappuccino or my life on the ranch, ask me. I love answering your questions :).

Our little colt was giving us a little 'bucking' tantrum/ showoff session.

Double Trouble right here. This is Buck and Little Pup. I call her Kabookie. Everyone has their own name for her. Poor thing. haha.
Good Ol' Buck.

My mom. Yes. I know. She could pass for a sister.

Maybe I'll do a post this summer on how to saddle a horse! :)

Puttin' on the Bridle.
Oh hello. This is our little colt. She was the one bucking in the earlier photos.

Hope you've enjoyed this little glimpse into my life. And hope you love the coffee scrumptious drink!

Western Marilyn

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry I've been MIA this week. I've been lovin' life at home. But don't worry, I haven't been slacking...I've been shooting like crazy. I did a photo shoot of my grandpa for the magazine, The Progressive Farmer (I'll show you some pics of that soon!), I did a shoot of my beautiful sister featuring Spell designs (if you don't know who/what Spell is, look them up-they'll blow you away), I did a fun new recipe, and my mom took lots of outfit posts for me!! She is an amazing photographer too.

We had the best day together, we traveled up through Jerome--an old mining town, then went through Sedona--which is utterly amazing. I love the rich red rocks. There are so many fabulous locations to do shoots there. We then went to a Gluten-Free Pizza place and then went to a Gluten Free bakery and had GF Carrot Cake. My love tank was full. I was a happy happy girl!! The best part was that I got to spend all that time with my mom. Who of you all are close with their mom's? I seriously am best friends with mine :).

This super fun dress I found at Urban Outfitters. It is on sale right now for $49.99! It reminded me of Marilyn Monroe. Since I don't resemble Miss Marilyn very much--I decided to make the dress my own by adding some Old Gringo Black boots with it to make it a more western that fits my personal style better :). Check out the link below to get the dress yourself!

And there's my beautiful Mom telling me something apparently :). Isn't she darling??

Have a wonderful night loves!
