Office Space Inspiration

Being a wife in the first month of marriage has many ups...many more ups than downs I dare say. It's pure bliss. Not only being with your man all the time (duh) but also to create wonderful spaces. Having your own place where you don't have your mom saying..."um no, can't put that there..." (sorry mom, you're the best :)). Also not having any dumb college roommates that you have to coordinate with (sorry girls). It's just nice to call a place your own. And by the way, my mom has the best taste ever and I totally miss being surrounded with beauty all the time! But one down to being first married is that you're broke as hell... can't afford too much pretty things (you gotta be creative). Which is actually really fun :). So my first step to that creativity is to hit up my bff, Pinterest. I haven't been on in so long, but she is the kind of friend who is always there to give me ideas and inspiration. So thanks Pinterest. If you'd like to check out my lovely Pinterest page, you should. Click HERE

So I totally dig white decor...if you haven't noticed. In our little apartment, Brennan has his desk...his ugly ugly man desk. I can't do much about that right now...(but I'm working on eliminating it in the future...shhh don't tell him). But I have a little space too. I found this adorable white desk and chair at a boutique the other day so my work space is already coming along. Through these inspiration photos, too, I'm loving the frames! The different sizes, different edges, graphic art, mixed with great sayings and fonts. So today I went to the Salvation Army (my fav) and found this super cool vintage gold art deco frame. I switched out the old painting that was in it, and printed out a cool bold black and white print, saying, YOU MUST CREATE (seemed fitting right)? I am just going to keep adding to my new photo wall. I always think that the more fun and unique items that you can find and collect on a budget will be so much more satisfying than simply buying all standard frames for a not-so-fun price. It's like going on a treasure hunt...and who doesn't like those?

Another idea that you can do is find an old frame at your local Salvation Army and take out the backing and repurpose it into a chalk board by using plywood and chalkboard paint. This is super simple way to spice up your work space by creating a super cool inspiration board or to-do list. You can also similarly take out the backing of the frame and put in cork board and pin your favorite magazine and catalog photos for other inspirations.

Grace is a Senior!

This is Grace. She is such a doll! I was able to take her senior photos right before I moved to California. She is really beautiful on the outside but also on the inside. Such a breath of fresh air! We had so much fun laughing and talking about all the joys of high school ;). I wish her the best of luck on all her future adventures.

For this session, we did styling, which is available for a service for any photography option on my website. For styling, I do your hair, makeup, and outfit styling. If you'd like to check out my pricing for senior sessions and styling, visit my photography website at emilygoswick.com

Sit.Stay.Love

Okay so Sit. Stay. Love., hosted by Anthropologie Newport Beach was amazing. Thank you for everyone that came out! I am so grateful that I was able to capture the event. The event was a huge success. Not only I met many sweet people and dogs, but some of the dogs were adopted...which is the biggest success of all. There are so many great dogs to be adopted, you just have to look. A big thank you also to Home Made Doggy Dinners! They made the most darling and yummy treats (the pups loved them...don't worry-I'm not eating dog treats!).

From growing up with dogs all around, to now not having any dogs is so sad! My family and I raise beagles and hounds...and we also have an array of what we call 'dump' dogs. Dump dogs are the dogs no one wanted--which they then logically dump out in the middle of no where (aka where I lived in Arizona) so they all eventually show up in our front yard. So we at the ranch love our dump dogs! But I have to say my 'dog love tank' now is full. There were dogs of all shapes and sizes...no beagles...but there were some definite cuties :). Here are some of my favorites from the event!

If you attended the event, thank you for letting me photograph your sweet pets! If you do not see your photos, then please visit the complete Sit.Stay.Love Gallery. There are many many photos not shown here, so please click the link above and be sure to download your photos!

Also a little shoutout, if anyone is in need of family photos, senior sessions, or engagement shoots, I'm currently taking bookings in Southern California! Let me know through contacting me through email at emily.goswick@yahoo.com If you want to check out some of my other work (not of dogs :)), visit my photography website at emilygoswick.com and my instagram username is @egoswick Hoping to hear from you soon! xx

Upcoming Event at Anthropologie!

Hi Southern California Readers!! This post is directed at you! I'm so excited to be sharing that the event, Sit.Stay.Love will be hosted at, Anthropologie this Sunday the 21st. Not sure what the heck I'm talking about? Let me fill you in. Sit.Stay.Love is an event that many Anthropologie stores across the nation host each year, collecting donations to a selected cause to help homeless pets. This is their fifth year of doing the event. It has had huge success and resulted in hundreds of dog adoptions and raised thousands of dollars in supplies for local shelters. This year, the Anthro I work for at Fashion Island, is collecting donations to be given to the OC humane society! So great! In addition, there will be puppies there ready to be adopted! And um....what is better than Anthropologie and puppies?? Not much ladies...not much.

But it gets better. The super exciting part for me is that I am going to be the photographer for this event coming up! So if you already have a furry friend, bring them in and let me capture a portrait and you and your dog. This is completely free, we just want to welcome you to chat, shop, have some treats (we will have doggie treats and human treats :)), and have a good time. Photos start at 1 and go till 3. I will be posting my favorite portraits of the day on my blog and on my photography website. Also, I will be giving out each of you access to download your photo online.

So please come in! Bring yourself and your dog. Let me capture a lovely photo of you two! If you don't have a pet, come in and come in with an open mind to maybe adopt one! Here are complete details.

Pet Supply Drive: September 19-21. Bring your donations to the store during any of these days!

September 21st: Sit.Stay.Love Event. 1-3 Portraits taken, puppies present, and treats served :).

Anthropologie Fashion Island

I added a few photos.. two of the St. Bernards was from a portrait session I did for a client and his pure bred St. Bernard puppies... to die for! And I had to throw in a couple of my puppies from home :(. This is Buck and little Pup. I love dogs so much. I had a miniature beagle all growing up named Butter. She was my friend--I got her as a gift for my 8th birthday and she was a part of my life till I was a sophomore in college. She was the most amazing dog in the whole wide world! Its so special what dogs bring to us, isn't it?? :) Okay hope to see you there! xx

Honeymoon Snaps

Happy Wednesday! I compiled a few (and a few more ;)) of our honeymoon iPhone photos. I didn't want to Instagram overload, so here we go :)! If any honeymooners need any advice on what to do--where to go, let me know! We did a lot of things and went on lots of adventures. We first went the the Big Island, then traveled on over to Maui. I had never been to the Big Island before and I actually like it a lot more!! It's less "resortey" than Maui. It's super dramatic too...one minute you'll be driving in the hot sun passing black lava rock for what looks like miles, then all of a sudden, you climb up a hill and you're in a lush green rainy jungle. On this island we rented a blue mustang convertible (so fun) and drove lots of places around the island. We went through quaint little towns, ate at all the local dives, checked out the antique shops (Brennan is so sweet for doing this with me :)), snorkeled, and hiked to beaches where we were the only ones on the beach.

When we went to Maui, we decided not to do really anything. We had done so much on the Big Island, on Maui, we just laid on the beach and lounged at the pool. One of my favorite things we did in Maui though, was going to the Old La' Haina Luau. It was incredible!! Unlimited food, drinks, and the performance was beautiful. It made me want to become a hula dancer ;). Also on our last day there we drove up the coast, and snorkeled at each major stop. At the last stop, Brennan and I swam with 8 turtles! It was incredible. These turtles were huge and one of them had a little baby! They were feeding right up by some rocks on the reef. It was absolutely incredible. Also at that beach, I found lots of treasures, as you can see in my previous post. I love seashell hunting at any beach I go to :).

Okay. Let's talk food. Also, if you're in Maui YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE Poke Shack. If you like Poke, this will blow your mind. I have never had Poke, but now I'm in love. So granted I don't have many other poke eating experiences :)...but seriously it's amazing. Also. Hula Grill's Pono Pie. Best thing I ate the whole honeymoon. I loved this so much. The night we decided to go to Hula Grill, I just had to try the Pie because it was Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and even Sugar Free. I know you're saying, "oh Emily, that doesn't pass for dessert..." but trust me. It is beyond delicious. It's like a cheesecake/ice cream texture with coconut, macadamia nuts, honey, and breadfruit. So good. But after the night we went there for dinner and had this, we went every night after that, just to get the Pono Pie :).
