1+1=2

Here's a few photos that the wonderfully talented, Lauren Ristow took the night of our engagement party at my house. This is my front yard :). This is where we are going to have our wedding too! It's beautiful now, but in the summer its spectacular...green grass everywhere, underneath big cottonwood trees, slight breeze, ahhh it's lovely :). I can't wait. I grew up in such a pretty place.

And I must say I was made to be engagement haha. I just love all the planning and all of the creativity. I am a firm believer of details. I believe that its through the subtle details that make a wedding beautiful. I'm not sure how many of my readers are engaged right now, but if any are and you're struggling with ideas, just take a moment to think about you and your fiance. Who you are as a couple, what you like to do, your jokes, your memories. And from there, make fun little details reflected that of you and your fiance. For example, one of my most favorite weddings I've ever been to was my track coach, Miss B. She was a math teacher and for the table assignments, each person was given a puzzle or math question and only when they had figured out the puzzle, were they able to figure out where they were sitting. I just thought it was adorable.

I'd love to hear any advice about what you learned from your wedding? Your favorite part? If you were to do it differently, what would you do? I'd love to hear!

Have a wonderful week!

Nail Trends Spring 2014

Lets talk nails. Since I have this gorgeous ring on one particular finger now, I've been particularly motivated to have pretty nails :). Top trends this season can be summed into four trends: All things white (embellished, matte, opaque, glittered, shimmer), pastels, blue/purple shades, and metallics. White nail polish is really big right now. I love it because it is always neutral and very classic. What I'm loving too is all the embellishments and patterns I'm seeing with the white. So pretty! Pastels were a huge hit last season for spring and they are again this year. I'm loving the pastel orange and soft pink NARS colors pictured below. Midnight blues and purples are also gorgeous for a bit of drama. I love wearing black nail polish and midnight blue is a great alternative to switch it up every now and then. Metallics have been a huge hit for awhile and are still going strong. I love them because they add a bit of drama and shimmer to the typical matte nail. Get your favorites colors below! Coconut Chocolate Ice Cream

So I've discovered my new favorite thing of all time. I have it everyday. I love chocolate and have a major sweet tooth but am allergic to everything under the sun. No baked goods, no ice cream, no frozen yogurt. I mean of all the people to have food allergies, it had to be me :(. My fiance, Brennan, is like a well-oiled machine when it comes to eating. He is so healthy and researches the best foods to eat for specific times of the day, before your workout, after your workout...he's a champ. If he wanted to eat chicken, spinach, and eggs for the rest of his life, he could. He is so disciplined. Now me. Well I'm disciplined because I have to be, but oh man I love sweets, I love nice meals, I love desserts. Brennan on the other hand could never have another dessert in his life and would be fine. He's so sweet, he always tells me if he could take my allergies, he would, so I could enjoy all foods :).

Well the harsh reality is that I can't. Sad day. BUTTTT I can still enjoy some really delicious foods. And with this Coconut Chocolate Ice Cream, it almost makes me not miss the real stuff ;)...It's really smooth, creamy, chocolatey and delicious. But wait there's more! No Sugar. No Gluten. No Eggs. No Carbs. Yes and it tastes good. Trust me. It's a guilt free treat that satisfy's my sweet tooth and fills me up.

How ever do we make such a sensation. Well, I'll tell you how:)

1 Can Full Fat Coconut Milk
4 Tbl Cocoa Powder
1 Packet Stevia

...Plus if you want a bit of protein for the perfect meal, then add:

1 scoop Chocolate Protein
If you use chocolate protein, eliminate 2 tbl cocoa powder.

Toppings (optional):

1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Toasted Coconut
Chopped Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Take the Coconut Milk, Cocoa Powder, and Stevia or the Protein Powder and mix into a food processor or blender. Blend till smooth!

Then take the mixture and put into refrigerator for a smooth softer mixture or freezer for about an hour for a firmer mixture. Scoop, top, and serve! Enjoy! xo

Flower Power

I'm loving my new jacket from PB&J Boutique. This flower print is so trendy right now! I've been seeing similar styles and prints at Target, Nordstrom, and ASOS. The jacket, can be worn through spring and even summer. It's super comfy and light. I'm going super casual and wearing it with baggy jeans. Carry it in the summer and wear it with a cute short or maxi skirt or denim shorts. And no need to accessorize much with this jacket, all the beauty is in that print!

Valentines Day 2014!

Valentines Day is coming! My fiance and I love Valentines day. We definitely are "that cheesy" couple that is all into it. But I have a valid reason. He asked me to be his girlfriend on Valentines Day three years ago! It was also the first time he said he loved me! Now everybody say, Awwww ;). This Valentines Day will be extra special  because this is our first Valentines Day that we are engaged!! So happy! I gathered a bit of Valentine Date Night inspiration for all of you. And I just loved that portable record from Urban Outfitters on the bottom...oh my gosh, so cute. And that pink lipstick is my staple...I wear it all the time. So be sure to go below to visit all the links to each product! xo
